Volunteer with MTF!

Removing invasives from mature trees

Celebrate Earth Day on April 25th, and join us at Lewinsville Park to weed, mulch and plant. In honor of Earth Day, Supervisor Jimmy Bierman, his team and the McLean Trees Foundation will be hosting an event in Lewinsville Park from 10 am to 12:30 pm.  We will meet in the parking lot by the painted container with the bright rooster.  We will weed, mulch and re-stake 19 trees MTF planted in recent years and we will plant saplings and ground cover donated by IMA on the hill by the front of the stream.  No experience necessary.

We will teach you how to distinguish native from invasive vines. Wear long pants and sleeves, heavy shoes to walk though woods and bring water to drink. Bring gloves and pruning clippers if you have them. If not, we will lend you some.
